Project Summary and Objective
The project aims to support the digital and green transition of Italian and Croatian ports by providing new planning tools for policymakers, seaports, port and logistics operators, and by investing in five key areas:
- Energy efficiency and renewable energy
- Smart lighting systems and climate resilience measures
- Introduction of e-mobility solutions in port operations
- Port digitalization, including the application of digital twin technology and multimodal travel planning tools
- Enhancement of port security systems
The project is implemented within the framework of the INTERREG VI-A Italy–Croatia 2021–2027 Cross-border Cooperation Programme under the category of strategic projects (Operations of Strategic Importance). The project involves 8 partners from Italy and 7 from Croatia: the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea as the lead partner, along with the Municipality of Monfalcone, the Consortium for Economic Development of the Friuli Region, the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority, the Port Authority of Ravenna, the Central Adriatic Sea Port Authority, the Abruzzo Region, the South Adriatic Sea Port Authority, the County Port Authority of Rovinj, the Port Authority of Rijeka, the University of Rijeka – Faculty of Maritime Studies, the Port Authority of Zadar, the Port Authority of Split, the County Port Authority of Vela Luka, and the Port Authority of Dubrovnik.
On July 3, 2025, the project kick-off meeting was held in Zadar, organized by the Port Authority of Zadar, where project partners discussed the implementation of individual activities within work packages, presented their pilot projects, and agreed on further steps in implementation. In addition to project partners, the meeting was also attended by Hrvoje Grančarić, Project Officer of the Italy–Croatia Programme Joint Secretariat.

A Steering Committee meeting was also held as part of the agenda. The next project partner meeting is planned for December 2025 in Ravenna, organized by the Port Authority of Ravenna.
