Viking Yi Dun to Call at Dubrovnik Throughout the Winter

Viking Yi Dun to Call at Dubrovnik Throughout the Winter

The Viking Yi Dun, the first ocean cruise ship to offer a fully Chinese-language cruising experience in European waters, called at Dubrovnik’s Port of Gruž twice in October, on October 11 and 17. Three more calls are expected by the end of November, on November 9, 23 and 28, with the ship’s operations in European waters set to continue into 2027.

Operated by Viking Cruises, the Viking Yi Dun is part of the company’s Mediterranean itineraries designed specifically for Chinese travelers. The cruises are fully tailored to Chinese-speaking guests, with Chinese-speaking crew members and onboard services provided in Chinese. Menus, signage and shore excursions are also adapted to meet the needs of Chinese passengers.

The ship is part of Viking Cruises’ 2026 European ocean cruise season for the Chinese market. The itineraries range from 13 to 22 days and include destinations throughout the Mediterranean.

Ports of call include Barcelona, Marseille, Monte Carlo, Livorno, Civitavecchia, Naples, Mykonos, Piraeus and Dubrovnik, with some itineraries ending in Venice. The cruises connect destinations in Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Greece and Croatia.

Before arriving in Europe, the Viking Yi Dun completed a 60-day voyage from Shanghai to the Mediterranean, traveling across Asia, Africa and Europe. The journey included 27 ports in 16 countries, with stops in Singapore, Sri Lanka, Oman, Egypt, Turkey and Greece.

Viking Ocean Cruises has a notable presence in Dubrovnik’s cruise sector, particularly in the premium cruise segment. Importantly, the company’s ships also call at Dubrovnik during the winter months. During the winter season of 2025–2026, one Viking ship visited Dubrovnik, while two ships are scheduled to call during the winter season of 2026–2027, including the Viking Yi Dun.

The ship’s continued presence in Dubrovnik highlights the city’s role as a Mediterranean cruise destination beyond the traditional summer season and reflects Viking’s ongoing commitment to the Chinese travel market in Europe.
